I am having the same problem with Itunes and Quicktime. It started appearing since I did the last update of Windows Media Player. I also installed the .Net framework latest version from the official website but this also does not solves the issue. Hope you can provide a much better solution please do the needful.

My suggestion is to uninstall both the Real Player, such as iTunes (the error is corrected after reinstall) and Windows Media Player 10 (if you have) now cleans the registry with RegSeeker (until there is a single error) and then install Windows Media Player 10, RealPlayer and iTunes again this will help you to get the problem solved.

    Perform the below steps.

    • Uninstall iTunes completely (over Itunes folder in C: \ Program File)
    • Completely uninstall Quicktime (more programs no longer in c: \ program file).
    • Clean the registry (use CCleaner for example).
    • Reboot.
    • Reinstall iTunes (which also reinstalls Quick Time).

After multiple tests, the only workable solution is to uninstall completemnet QUICKTME the pc and then clean the registry by a CCLEANER, finish by then reinstall itunes. Since the error itself states that the iTunes is not installed properly and hence i think that the reinstallation will definitely do the trick.
