    render engine for animation?

    Hello everyone,
My cousin is looking for the render engine that could be helpful for an animation purpose. Since he is not having that much knowledge he was asking me. Even I am not having knowledge about it. So since you all have solved my doubts I thought that this is place where I can expect for good solution. So please provide some solutions sooner.

There are several methods for 3D rendering (methods of calculations to obtain a raster image in two dimensions). The most common methods are the ray tracing and rasterization. The RIP is the method most used for video games. The short time required to render an image by this method provides continuous images at a rate high enough to make real time ( video games ). The ray tracing provides a picture quality superior to that of the RIP. Complex calculations made in this process requires considerable time and computing power and do not produce an image within a sufficiently short to be used in a video game. The ray tracing is used to make still images and animation.

The hardware acceleration is to use as far as possible the GPU - often included in the graphics card - to perform the calculations. The goal is to save time by freeing the CPU for other tasks such as arbitration of the game, the calculations in physics engine and sound engine , the AI , etc.. To take advantage of hardware acceleration, 3D engines often use the opportunities of low-level of software libraries such as DirectX or OpenGL .
Just a reply to say thank you for these links and posts I have a lot to read and learn now!

Unless you want to test as Kerkythea renderer, it is strongly recommended to use the official version of Blender. This project is not really a branch of Blender 2.49, software for 3D modeling and animation world famous as the following update of his model. The best definition would be expanded version of some capacity. Its main objective is to test the modifications necessary to use Kerkythea as finely as possible as external rendering software. In scenes of considerable size, announces Kerkythea rendering time very honorable for satisfactory results.
    Blessings to you

The following are the steps for an installation of Blender in windows :
    1. Download the archive win32dllpackages.zip and unfold it in a folder called \ Blender2kt on which you have full user rights. You must do this at the first installation.
    2. Download the archive: win32blender2KTXXXX (XXXX depends on the build date).
    3. Unfold the content in the \ Blender2kt.
    4. Click on the executable file win32blender2KTXXXX.exe.

If kerkythea is already installed on the workstation, its location will be identified automatically and just make a left click on the button for the display render in Blender render window.

Under the project SignCom that forces us to merge animation data motion capture from geometry and resources (the characters), designed by graphic artists, which propose to develop a 3D rendering engine capable of matcher both. The objectives of this project are on one side to deport a maximum of calculations on the graphics card (animation) and another to integrate the latest technologies of computer graphics.

    • Ray-tracing - The method of ray tracing (ray tracing English) is to compute the path traveled by the ray of light for each pixel of the image. The 3D engine calculates the path by traveling in the opposite direction by following the rules of physics such as the reflection and refraction . It performs various calculations of geometrical optics.
    • RIP - The rasterization or rendering of polygons is a process where objects are represented as triangles in which the graphics card is subjected to various geometric transformations in order to project onto the screen. Once the 2D coordinates of triangles known, the map transforms them into a set of pixels and calculates the color of each pixel individually.
