    where to download bootinst.bat

    Hello everyone,
I have recently installed BackTrack 4 on my system. I have installed that on USB key, so if I wanted to use it when I'm traveling. Except that now, after downloading the ISO, you extract my key, and after launching the bootinst.bat nothing is happening. One of my friend told me that there is something wrong with the bootinst.bat. He also said that I will have to download in some specific directory. So I thought to ask you guys.!! Is that True.?? If yes, please tell me where to do that. Since I am not having much information about it, explain me in details.

Hi, I just downloaded the .Iso and I clip on my key just like you. I launched the bootinst.bat (which I opened command prompt). Everything works when I start that on my key. In an option when you boot your PC (like a key (F12)) that allows you to choose which device to boot? Even if you set your bios though, you never know. So keep checking that and you too will able to do it.

Try to follow the order of installation as described below :
    1. Extract the files on your desktop (3 Files).
    2. Copy the extracted files on the key.
    3. Implementation bootinst.bat (the key).
    4. Boot on the key.

    Hope it helps.

You do not need to go through the DOS to start bootinst.bat. All you need to double click on it. This is what I do and it worked. Also in a terminal do the following :
    Code:
    sudo chmod + x bootinst.sh
    . / Bootinst.sh
chmod + X gives execute permissions on bootinst.sh and normally it should work.
