Adobe CS5 Suite supporting intel macs only

    Hi,
I had heard that the Adobe CS5 suite is going to support only the intel based support systems. This is quiet not fair for some different system which does not support intel. The older model of pc also comes in this. I need some basic information on this. What are the other benefits and support for the same. What is the native support of this application.

This has been due to Apple's dropping plan for PowerPC architecture especially support for Snow Leopard. Therefore Adobe has also changed its ways for the the 64 bit Carbon support. So this is just for new system support where you will get much newer features and support on the Adobe suite system. This is not a good news for old PowerPC systems.

At the time spoke of an inability to move to 64 bit because of legacy code. In the case of Photoshop especially, or almost everything was written in Carbon. However, shortly before Leopard does so with part of its subsystem in 64-bit (including the memory address), Apple had said that Carbon would not 64-bit version, and that developers should turn to Cocoa . Adobe had then explained that in the case of Photoshop, this could mean a change of more than one million lines of code.

While the Adobe suite on Windows is compatible with 64-bit architecture since the CS4, CS5 you have to wait, under development, to show support 64-bit on Mac machines, provided of course be part of lucky ones who can activate the core 64-bit Snow Leopard. In the case of Photoshop specifically, the code has been rewritten in Cocoa because Apple had indicated that Carbon would not have 64-bit version. The performances are announced with a gain of 8 to 12% compared to the 32-bit.

This is not really a surprise. Adobe is not the Apple with its next operating system Mac OS X 10.6 to forsake Macs with a PowerPC processor. The Intel architecture is now the norm for Apple and Adobe have decided that the next version of its Adobe Creative Suite, CS5, will be in Mac OS X machines at the destination Mac equipped with an Intel processor.

Provided and 64-bit or not, if CS5 will be proposed only for Intel Macs, Mac OS X 10.6 will not have the privilege. Mac OS X 10.5 will also be in the loop, which is less safe cons for Mac OS X 10.4. Furthermore, as a component of CS's Flash Player will continue to be delivered in universal binaries. Adobe also said that Creative Suite 3 and 4 are applications as universal binaries that can actually be installed on either a Mac PowerPC or Intel. For the PowerPC platform, Adobe will develop only updates to solve critical problems.
