Multimedia Audio Controller issues on vista

No sound comes out of my system whenever i try to play media files on my system. It appears to be playing in the windows media player but i can't hear any sound. So i decided to check it in the device manager , It shows Multimedia Audio Controller with a big yellow question mark which shows that there are not drivers present. i am using a creative Sound Blaster Auidigy 2 sound card please tell me how can i get this Multimedia Audio Controller issues on vista

This appears to be working with your windows vista desktop since you are not facing this problem from the day when you installed your operating system. you might be facing this issue because your drivers may have been corrupted and hence i would suggest you to download and install the drivers again from the official website of the manufacturer.

I would suggest you to go for the windows XP driver again instead of searching for windows Vista drivers since you have upgraded your system from windows XP to windows Vista. Basically windows Vista has most of the drivers built in this problem can be solved by restoring your system to a date back where your system was working absolutely fine.

You can resolve this problem by using the drivers cd which you may have received from the vendor. Follow the below steps.

• Insert the drivers CD in the cd/dvd Rom.
• Then open the device manager and browse to the yellow question mark.
• Right click on the driver cd and then select update driver option.
• Browse to DRIVERS/AUDIO folder in the cd drive and then click next .
• Drivers will be installed once again then reboot your machine.

Your system may have been infected with a virus and hence the driver file may have got corrupted i would suggest you to install an antivirus application on your system. Scan your system using the antivirus application remove all the threats which may have been detected. Then install the drivers again.

It appears as you have installed some updates on your system and hence the drivers which you have installed on your system may have been rolled back.
So i would suggest you to restore you system to a prior date before where the drivers were installed and all was working fine. This will definitely help you to get rid of this problem.
