Problem with recent documents list in word 2010

I am using a windows 7 system recently i have installed the office 2010 program on my system. As i am not familiar with the word 2010 beta much. I ma not getting the recent document list as i use to get in the word 2007 application. please help me to solve the problem of recent documents list in word 2010

The office 2010 is a very good application and it caontains almost all the feature which was present in the office 2007. It also has some additional features of the word 2010. I think that you need to click the File menu first if you want to get the option to see the recent word documents. Hope this will help you

I would like to know whether you have installed the office 2010 beta from a setup which is been downloaded from a reliable source or you have downloaded it form the official microsoft website. It is always recommended that you download a software from official website so that you did not face such problem.

I had faced the similar problem with my office 2010 application and then after a lot of research on this problem i finally found a solution to this problem what i did is what i uninstalled the existing office application from my system and then reinstalled it again this worked for me surprisingly. might work in your case too.

Thanks a lot for the replies friend i tried all the solution that you all have mentioned but none of them helped or seemed to work in this case. I clicked the file menu and then clicked the recent option then it started asking me to browse in the recent document directory. Any other suggestion please help.

It appears as you have installed some add-ins which might be causing all these error and hence try to remove these add-ins from word and then check whether you can try check whether the problem is there still. If yes then open the word application in safe mode by holding the ctrl key while double clicking the icon.
