    Video encoding with subtitles

    Good evening,

Subject asked about repeatedly on the internet but unfortunately I found no answer to my question.

In fact I am looking for software that would allow me to encode a video by adding subtitles taken apart while not losing the quality on the video ...

I have not found any software for now so if someone had a good offer to me I would be very grateful!

    Thank you.

What format of import and export?

    A priori it is HandBrake.

Anyway, once we reencode it inevitably loses quality (although it skips not necessarily in the eyes ..)

Format of input and output: avi

HandBrake is a shareware software? Can you tell me its more specific features that will complete my needs.

Thank you for the speed anyway.

There Avidemux indeed, great app. Avidemux is a free video editor designed for simple cutting, filtering and encoding tasks. It supports many file types, including AVI, DVD compatible MPEG files, MP4 and ASF, using a variety of codecs. Tasks can be automated using projects, the queue of jobs and powerful scripting capabilities.

I use dvdrip , my favourite...Transcoding to. AVI (Xvid) dvdsrip is easy and almost always works well. A/V sync is okay. It lets you rip the subs from DVD format. Sub, viewable with mplayer or vlc. Not ideal, but works.

tovid lets you convert a file. avi to DVD with subtitles. tovid is a suite of utilities designed to make VCD, SVCD and DVD authoring a little less painful. tovid can create MPEG output from arbitrary video formats, other components of the suite can help you identify video files, generate graphical menus for DVD, and write the XML for authoring VCD and DVD.
