The security software itself can sometimes cause QuickTime to quit unexpectedly. Try to temporarily disable the Internet security software or excludes the QuickTime software that checks to make. If this solves the problem, check the manufacturer of the software provides an update of software or virus definitions.

In Windows, some background processes can cause problems with other programs and processes. These conflicts can prevent the proper execution, opening, or to install programs like iTunes and QuickTime Player. You can resolve this problem by disabling some items using the System Configuration Utility (MSCONFIG) in Windows XP.

If the quicktime installer (quicktime Setup) after booting does not respond or seems to be frozen, it may be that the folder is backed up to the installer that contains unusual characters. If you find that the quicktime installer is stored in such a folder, rename the folder either postpone or move the quicktime installer before running to another location, such as to the desktop.

Disabling System Services and Startup Items from a third party may have the consequence that some software or OEM hardware on your computer stops working correctly. This may have implications for the CD / DVD control buttons for portable computers, or lead to loss of function of a wireless mouse or keyboard. If you already have the "Selective Startup" to use in Windows, you have to remember which components are deactivated and reactivated so that your computer after completing, you can try again to reset to its original state.

    Hello roshan45,

    Have you checked compatibility?
    Just an FYI for you.

It is always best to check with the software manufacturer FIRST. They will tell you if they have tested the product and the version, as well as whether or not it will work with Windows 7.
Check out the Windows 7 Compatibility site: (There you will find out about hardware and software compatibility.)
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/com...s/default.aspx
There is a pulldown from which you can choose "hardware" and "software".

There are also some great articles, instructional videos and such to help with your Windows 7 at our Springboard site:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/default.aspx

In any event a lot of the times, Vista drivers will work in lieu of Windows 7 drivers, however, it's not 100%!

As stated previously, it's best to have the Windows 7 certified drivers installed.

Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum located here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...egory/w7itpro/ . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to check the threads available there for additional assitance and support.

    Thanks again,
