    Stopping remote compression in windows

How to remove the differential compression. I think the compression agent in the computer is eating up my system resource and due to that I am not able to transfer my files quickly over the network. Many a times have to restart my computer I think which is not good for my system. This I am doing for the external driver which is attached to the computer.

For the stopping remote compression in windows. The remote degree of difference compression characteristic of Vista was intended to streamline relocates of files to and from remote directories by keeping track of file modify and only transferring the modified parts of a file or document, rather than the whole thing. This is a enormous characteristic for offices that generally store and access work on network drives, but not so much for home users, specially since the service can eat up system performance while it's working.

If you use an exterior hard drive corral as secondary storage for your vista computer system, or if you frequently use a USB storage device for huge amounts of file relocates, you will be getting advantage from this tip. By altering the way Vista handles writing data to USB storage devices, you can also significantly boost the access speed and data relocate rate of said device.

By evasion, Windows Vista does not use write caching on USB drives, meaning that all data you send to the drive is instantaneously relocated to the device. Write caching acts as a shock absorber between the slow involuntary hard drive and the fast system memory. In quintessence, your computer writes to the cache (another area of memory) which then relocates the data consecutively to the drive, freeing up the rest of your system to do other things.

By facilitating write caching on USB drives, you can enlarge the perceptible presentation of your external hard disk greatly. Note that flash memory devices will see little to no presentation increase with this tweak. To facilitate Write Caching on an external drive, with your exterior USB drive plugged in and associated, go to 'start\computer.' Right click the exterior drive in the computer window and select 'properties.' Press or hit on the 'hardware' tab. Highlight your exterior drive in the list and click the 'properties' button. Select the 'policies' tab. Select the second option marked 'optimize for performance.' Hit OK.
