Setup compatibility settings of Office 2007

I am using Microsoft Office 2007 right now. I have doubt here. Likewise If I open a old version of office document say for example Microsoft office 2003 on 2007 then to determine the compatibility issue what all changes are made by it. Does the same is applicable if we go reveres. I don't think so. But it is possible to open a word 2007 document in 2003 by saving it under compatibility option. And the setup compatibility settings of Office 2007.

Content controls will be converted to static content. If you save a document in Word 97–2003 format, all of the content controls will be converted to plain text and associated properties will be eternally lost even if you later convert the document to the Office Word 2007 file format. For example, in Word 97–2003, users will no longer see items in a drop-down list. In addition, any shelter properties (that is, regions that cannot be edited or deleted) will no longer be enforced and users will be able to delete and change the contents of the controls.

Equations will be transformed to images. You will not be able to edit the equations until the document is converted to a new file format. If you save the document in Word 97-2003 format, equations will be transformed to images that you can't edit. However, if you later convert the document to Office Word 2007 file format, the equations will become text and you will be able to edit them.SmartArt graphics will be transformed into a single object that can't be edited in previous versions of Word.
