A possibility could be that the installation file through which you are trying to install the software in to the Macbook may not be proper. This is the reason you are not able to install the software. You can use another installer that is try to install the office by using another disc. It may then work out. The installer that you have might be appended with some bug issue due to which it is not able to execute. Try out.

You need to check out that the user account through which you have been accessed and trying to install the software has admin rights. It is quite very much possible that the admin might have disabled the rights for the user to install any application to the system. Try to login using administrator account and then try to install the application. This should help you out in getting the things to work out for you.

Run a scan check wizard to your system. there may be a virus that is affecting the system and is not allowing any application to get installed to the system. If not this then check out for the security option. It may be that the rights for installing the application may be revoked. Grant the rights and thus make the application to get executed well with the system.Hope this should let you to a conclusion.
