    Error 112 Setup Installation Error

I am getting an error "Error 112 Setup Installation Error". The error also stats that Setup was not able to decompress and copy all the programs that are needed to proceed with the Installation. I am using Windows XP as my operating system. Whenever I am trying to install an application I am getting this message. I don't know the exact cause of this error. Can someone help in isolating this error.?

Re: Error 112 Setup Installation Error

The "Error 112 Setup Installation Error" usually comes when you are running less disk space in the temporary folder. This error occurs mainly in Windows XP when there is no space and you are trying to install a program. There are some temporary files that needs to be placed in temporary folder during the installation. Since they contain some information that is needed during the installation it is necessary that they should be placed somewhere else. By default it is in temp folder in C: drive. Since the computer cannot access all of the program files from the hard drive, it will not be able to finish the installation until more space is available in the temporary files folder. Make some space and try to reinstall the applications.

Re: Error 112 Setup Installation Error

You need to delete some temp files to fix the "Error 112 Setup Installation Error". You can do this by going to the drive where you have installed your OS. By default, it is C:. Once you are in the C: drive you will have to go in Windows folder. In Windows folder you will find the folder named TEMP. Go in that folder and delete the entire files (they are temporary & will not cause any harm). Make sure you are not keeping it in Recycle Bin. Otherwise empty the bin also. While deleting you may be asked that are you sure to delete these files? So click on Yes and continue with the deletion. Once you are done with deleting the temporary files, try to install the software that you want. The error will not come again.

Re: Error 112 Setup Installation Error

112 ERROR : Setup Installation Error definitely gets generated when there is no space for temporary folder in the C: drive. I would suggest you to use the Disk Cleanup tool which is available in Windows XP. This tool will help you in making the space on your hard drive by deleting the unwanted files including the temporary files. The better thing with this option is that it asks you for the confirmation. To run this tool you can go to Accessories by pressing the Start button. Then select the System Tools, in that you will find the Disk Cleanup tool. Otherwise click on Start button and select the Run. In that type "cleanmgr" and click on OK. Click the check box that appears next to Temporary files. So that the unwanted files from the temporary files will be removed. When you are asked the confirmation continue the action by clicking Yes. Lastly click on OK. Now you can install the applications that you want.

Re: Error 112 Setup Installation Error

You have not mentioned exactly which software is giving an error while installation. Normally Error 112 Setup Installation Error is pop up because of the less space availability on your hard drive. Try to do the things that mentioned above by the kattman or Glenny to make more space on your hard disk. If nothing is working then try to install that software from the another source maybe that particular software is having some issue. If the error is coming when you are installing any application then it will definitely get resolved by making space on C: drive.
