PowerPoint 2007 Professional continues to ask for product key.

    Hello,

I'm having a problem with an installtion of Office 2007 Professional. We have a corporate license for Office 2007 here at work. I installed it on a new Windows XP laptop. Once particular user is having a problem when he launches PowerPoint 2007. Every few times he launches the software, a Windows Installer box pops up and tries to install some Office component or a box pops up asking for the product key. This does not happen every time. It happens wether opening a new PowerPoint presentation or an existing one.

Office 2007 has been activated. I have tried a repair on the installation. The Event Viewer is not showing any issues, at least none that are jumping out at me. Has anyone else run into this issue before?

    Thanks.

This error may be come due to not proper installation of ms power point. So i suggest you please reinstall the power point and insert proper key for that. If you found any issue reply .

You can access following steps this will resolve it really. First close all Microsoft Office applications and then go on start click run and type regedit and click ok. After that find the registry subkey that is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration. If you find any additional subkey like that \{91120000-0011-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE} then delete the entries like DigitalProductID and ProductID and exit registry editor. Then restart the computer.

You can try also try this way. Go to Run and and navigate C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE12\Office Setup controller\Proof.en. You need to search file named Proof.XML. Right click on that file and open with notepad. You just find one line that is </Feature> <Feature Id="SetupXmlFiles" Cost="1248"><OptionRef Id="AlwaysInstalled"/></Feature>. Change all the line SAY AlwaysInstalled with neverInstalled and save the file. Now restart the computers and checked resolved.
