Update / install newest version of firefox in Linux

    Hi
Some of my plugins are not working with the older verison of firefox, so I tried to install firefox but it says that the newest firefox version is 3.5.0b4 while the newest is 3.5.5. I ma using fedora 11.
I downloaded the .rpm files from the internet
    Then I issued these commands
    Code:
    # yum install system-bookmarks
    # rpm -Uvh xulrunner-1.9.1.5-1.fc11.i586.rpm
    # rpm -Uvh firefox-3.5.5-1.fc11.i586.rpm
But unfortunately this is not installing the latest firefox in my system, any advice of suggestion that I can follow to download the newest version.

    Hello
I think the procedure which are following is wrong.
    http://mirror-fpt-telecom.fpt.net/fe....fc11.i586.rpm
    http://mirror-fpt-telecom.fpt.net/fe....fc11.i586.rpm

    # yum install system-bookmarks
    # rpm -Uvh xulrunner-1.9.1.5-1.fc11.i586.rpm
    # rpm -Uvh firefox-3.5.5-1.fc11.i586.rpm
Instead you should do this, just update the firefox and it is done.
    Code:
    su
    yum update firefox
And you will be ready with the latest version of firefox.

Re: Update / install newest version of firefox in Linux

    Hi
I have fedora 11 install and run firefox 3.5.5. And it work very smoothly. If the above is not working with you, can try this.
    Code:
    su -
    yum remove firefox
    yum install firefox
Just remove the firefox completely and then again install it as a fresh copy. If the above described update command is not working for you, then please check the repository of your operating system.
    Code:
    yum repolist
Hope this will solve your query. Any more problem please do post.
