Re: Google Page Speed vs Yahoo YSlow

YSlow add-one analyzes web pages for high performance web sites. Both YSlow and Page Speed are plugins for Firebug (which in turn is Firefox plugin); YSlow gives you constant access to this type of information right within Firefox, and provides you some insight into possible reasons why a page is taking too long to load.

Page Speed plug-in for Firefox is used to assess the performance of web pages and make recommendations on speeding up the delivery.
YSlow analyzes web pages and suggests ways to improve their performance based on a set of rules for high performance web pages. YSlow is a Firefox add-on integrated with the Firebug web development tool.

Re: Google Page Speed vs Yahoo YSlow

Page Speed is similar to Yslow in several respects: it’s an add-on to Firebug; it analyses your pages according to a set of performance rules; it draws attention to rules that you score badly on; and it also provides a page activity monitor. YSlow grades web page based on one of three predefined ruleset or a user-defined ruleset. It offers suggestions for improving the page's performance, summarizes the page's components.
