unsure 0x00000050 error, I need some help

About two weeks ago i received a BSOD due to a 0x00000050 error. I came here and went through a handful of posts on the subject. I haven't installed any new hardware and I removed all files to any newly installed/updated software. So with the error still occurring I believe I've narrowed it down to a RAM error. My system will boot and run fine until numerous programs are running, then the error occurs. I can almost get the error on command now. I attempted to run the diagnostic but did not have any luck after several "how to's" and downloads of the diagnostic. I then attempted physically removing a stick of RAM at a time to see if i could find the faulty stick. However with each of the two running solo the error occurred once again.

So my question is, does this seem a RAM issue and replacing the RAM the best solution? Or do i have a more complicated problem and the RAM isn't the real issue?

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. I have an idea of what is going on and I don't want to buy the new RAM without some input from much more knowledgeable people.

Thank you for your time and input!

To resolve this problem, you can check out the following link. This is because this is frequently referred to as "the blue screen of death." You may also see a line such as, "Windows has recovered from a serious error. Error 0x00000050 is an error that stops windows from working properly.

Why don't you check your memory with mem86+? This would ensure and make sure that the problem lies with the memory or not... Will save a lot of your time in troubleshooting.

Error 0x00000050 is an error that stops windows from working properly. This problem may occur if there is a conflict between Windows XP SP1 and the display adapter drivers that are currently installed.
