Storport.sys error causing BOSD in Vista

    Hi,
I was trying to run a automatic update for Vita in my Laptop. But in the middle the system crashed with blue screen denoting Storport.sys error. I restarted the Laptop again and then the same thing happened. This is no becoming very annoying. Every time after some interval of time the blue screen appear. How can fix the operating system without performing re-installation. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

The problem lies with the hardware. This is a common issue. Microsoft has provided a specific fix for the issue. The problem comes if your system has a Nvidia chipset or around 4 GB of RAM. The link for the same is provided below. The below link will take you to the official site of Microsoft where before downloading the update the site will validate your Windows copy. So it is needed that you are using a OEM Windows Vista.

The error comes up due to hardware failure. The most common is the RAM. If the RAM is corrupted or damaged then such error comes up. There is no use of re-installing the entire operating system back again. The better alternative for the same is to contact your nearest service center for the issue. If your system is under warranty then you will get a replacement for the same.

The file is located in C:\System32\drivers\Storport.sys. It is a driver file which is associated to Microsoft Storage Port Driver. It is a part of system file. If you hardware fails to load up or tries to access the memory the blue screen appears. You can do one thing here, run Device Manager and update the driver for the above listed drive. Or if your a drive disc then you can re-install all the drivers back again.
