PowerDVD 9 no sound

Just installed the powerdvd few hours back and i'm stuck with its sound issue. No sound is coming while i watching movie with it. Mob vie is in AC3 format. Windows Media player also not playing it. Please help, i need to make it work quick. Thanks for any help...

You need the AC3 codec to make it work with wmp and poweDVD. Install the k-lite codec or ffdshow , that will make the AC3 file to play in powerDVD.

All you need is to install the AC3Filter, First Download AC3Filter http://ac3filter.googlecode.com/file...lter_1_63b.exe , AC3Filter audio decoder is available for free. Enables other media players to playback movies with AC3 and DTS audio tracks. It also can process any audio track, much of processing options allows to adjust the sound in almost any way. It is possible to improve sound in any audio source to 6 channels. Filter can do multi-channel and digital (SPDIF) output. Can encode any audio source to AC3 on the fly and send it over SPDIF to the receiver.

If your player doesn't have the ac3 ability and your movie only has as3 audio here is what you can do, I'm assuming you using windows vista.

• In Control Panel go to playback devices and Set the audio to spdif.
• Powerdvd has the audio set to spdif.
