Start -> Run and type in msconfig and press enter.

Look for "Startup" tab . You'll see several entries there with a checkmark next to them. Look for entries with the name

    • Sonic Update Manager
    • Update Manager
    • sgtray.exe

If anyone the above is present remove the checkmark from them, click Apply - OK . Now it shouldn't come on next boot.

Sonic Update Manager won't creat any harm to you pc.it is not even a full software application from dell , it’s a secondary application or service that run with the Sonic RecordNow software. Sonic RecordNow lets you create cds and dvds, so you don’t want to remove that from your machine.

Download and Run the Sonic Isum_hotfix.exe File
    • Open a Web browser such as Windows Internet Explorer, and then download the file isum_hotfix (.EXE).
    • In the File Download - Security Warning window, click Run.
    • In the Internet Explorer - Security Warning window, click Run.
    • In the Sonic - ISUM Hotfix Setup window, click Yes to install the hotfix.
    • When prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.
