Hello friends, I am here because I have some problems with my dvd writer. I dont know the name of this writer but in device manager it is shown by the name atapi dvd dc 16x8x5 and I am not able to burn anything from it. I have Windows XP with service pack 3 and I have also tried to uninstall its driver but after removing the drivers it wont burn anything. So can anybody give me the atapi dvd dc 16x8x5 drivers for windows xp? Thanks

It has to be the problem with your burning applications. If your drive is recognized by Windows XP, which it does, and you can play DVDs then it is cabled and jumpered correctly. Try writing some files to a CD using XP's native CD writing feature. If that works then the problem is definately with your other software. Update your burning software or install a trial version of the latest Nero and try a DVD again.

I think that you will have to crossflash BenQ DW1670 OEM (I/O Magic) to DW1670 retail/Sony DRU-820A and vice versa. The latest MCSE v1.0.8.9 now supports crossflash option for these drives.

    More information here.

I think that you have to enable DMA to on. Go into the bios and ensure that it is enabled there. There is a place in the bios on my HP to enable it, not sure about your PC But seeing how your log is showing DMA is off it won't hurt to check the bios.
