    Re: Remote Desktop .exe Location

    Remote Desktop (Remote Desktop) is from the Terminal Server technology, this feature implemented in Windows XP allows a remote user to connect to a remote workstations, and use it exactly as if it were physically before the screen. To allow remote users to connect to your Windows XP, you must enable the Remote Desktop connection.

    Procedure:
    1. Right click on My Computer\Properties
    2. Remote tab
    3. Check "Allow users to connect remotely to this computer"
    4. Then select remote users who can connect to your station.

    Re: Remote Desktop .exe Location

    This strategy allows you to specify whether users are allowed to connect remotely using Terminal Services. In this case, the policy is enabled. If this policy is disabled, the target computers maintain current connections, but no longer accept new incoming connections. If the policy is not configured, Terminal Services uses the Allow users to connect remotely to this computer to the target computer to determine if remote connections are allowed.

    1) With the right mouse click the My Computer icon and click Properties.
    2) Click the Remote Desktop.
    If this policy is disabled, the checkbox Allow users to connect remotely to this computer will be unchecked and grayed.
    If the policy is enabled the box will be checked and rendered inaccessible.
    If you directly want to modify the registry, follow these steps:
    1) Open \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ Terminal Services.
    2) Create a DWORD value named fDenyTSConnections
    3) Edit this entry and register this as the value data:
    * 0: The policy is enabled.
    * 1: policy is disabled.

    This strategy is available from the publisher of Group Policy by opening Computer Configuration / Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Terminal Services: Allow users to connect remotely using Terminal Services.
