Does any one know how to install KDE programs in Windows and i also want to to know the procedure to Install KDE 4.2 on Ubuntu 8.10. Any recommendations and suggestions are appreciated.

Launch the KDE installer click on Next button on the installation wizard to continue. Select the path where you want to save the KDE. Once selected, click Next > Click Next > Select your Internet Connection type > Click Next > Choose the download server > click next > the window will open select the appropriate option which you want to install > Click Next to start the downloads > Once all of the downloads have completed, KDE will begin installing.

Go to System -> Administration -> Software Sources... click on 'Yes' button to install the packages and Wait for the KDE 4.1 packages to be downloaded....When the download is complete it will display manager. You'll then be asked if you want to use gdm or kdm as your display manager. The display manager is basically the login screen. Just click Forward... Select the 'KDE 4' option in the "Select Session" entry of the GNOME login manager and KDE will appear on your desktop. Native Gnome applications will be available in KDE, and native KDE applications will be available in Gnome.

The windows port for KDE allows users to install and run KDE applications in Windows 2000, XP, 2003 and Vista and you can use KDE Software Installer (Debian, Kubuntu) if you want to install KDE on ubuntu.
