Do i need an mds file?

    Hi,
I use many software like DVD Decrypter to create a backup disk for my data. For that i always need to create a MDS file. Which is compulsory for the process. So do i always need MDS file to burn DVD?

    Anyone have an idea?

MDS or ISO files are image of the files or data which you are trying to burn. MDS files are CD or DVD image files. There are some softwares which can burn and read these files. For more information check: What is a DVD MDS file

Basically these files have the information for the software to burn the file. When you burn the big data like games or movies. Such files are used by the softwares like alcohol or daemon tools to create the image of that file. So you can use this files and play the game or movie easily.

The "mds" file seems to be a regular ISO-image. Daemon tools mounts mds files fine. MDS file contains information about the media type. If you don't create or delete this file, the software cannot create and burn the image of your data. If you have any MDS file, you can download WinISO, open the image file and extract contents to desired location.
