I think you need slipstream DirectX to like as for all you do or addon for your windows CD , by using Hotfixes and Update pack tab. You can also use the RyanVM/s addon to slipstream latest DirectX.
nLite can't slipstream DirectX, as mentioned aboe you have to use the addon such as RyanVM/s. Ryan's addon is drastically smaller than Microsoft's installer for the following reasons:
- Ryan removes the x64 code, cutting the size in half right up front.
- Ryan removes the installation executables and CABs because they're not needed. The INFs are written as drivers that will install automatically when Windows Setup parses the contents of %SystemRoot%\INF. Also, Ryan registers the necessary DLLs through his own INF, R_DX9.INF. This cuts the size down by over half, again.
- 7-Zip compresses the remaining INFs and DLLs exceedingly well
