Save a word document as a pdf file

Can any one tell me how to save a word document as a pdf file. Any free software which convert word document in to pdf file. I am working on a file in Word and i want to edit the file in format pdf.

1.Download and install the complimentary Save as PDF or XPS add-in from Microsoft .
2. Open the document you want to publish as a PDF document.
3.Click the Microsoft Office button at the top left-hand corner of your screen and point to the arrow next to Save As , and then click PDF or XPS
4.In the Save as type list, click PDF .
5.Click the Options button to set up publishing properties and then click OK
6.To finish, click Publish .
