Can't activate microsoft office 2003

My computer crashed again last week and after reinstalling OS XP Pro x64 SP 2, I reinstalled MSOffice 2003 again but now I can't activate the product. It is a legal copy, I bought it a couple of years ago and I want to continue using it as I don't like MSOffice 2007. How do I reactivate my MSOffice product so I can use it again?

The activation of Office 2003 can be done on Microsoft website. Otherwise the product act as trail version. This normally does not happens. Because once the product is purchased the ownership for the license remains with you. But you can only use it on a single machine. If it is already installed in some other computer then it will not work. You can install it and try activate by phone process instead of internet. There can be issue with online activation. The activation wizard will give you a phone number. Call on that number and get a activation key.

Oh yes, I think I know what the problem is now, I have office installed on my laptop and I was running a virtual machine where office was also installed.
I didn't realise office could not be run on two different OS's on same machine.
Oh well, I will rectify that next time I run my VM.
