Problem with Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3

My Dell laptop is running Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3.

I know it's outdated but have let it be as I've had no trouble . . . until now.

Just bought a device (AudioEngine) that wirelessly transmits music from a computer to a home stereo.

Trouble is, when I plug the "sending" device into my laptop's USB port, I get the blue screen of death with a message that says something about an unauthorized device accessing memory.

So my question is this -- what's that all about? Is there a fix or should I just upgrade Windows? And if so, what should I upgrade to?

Can you give us full Error or a screenshot of the error, if you want us to help you better .

In your case it seems that there is some hardware issue because of which you are getting unauthorized device accessing memory, i would suggest you to install the drivers which has come with your device and if you wish to upgrade your Windows then that would be very good option and have a check are you still getting same error message.

First do this. Update your USB driver. Then go the site of you Blutooth dongle manufacturer and look for any new update. At least download the latest driver and install it. The solution can be that either your usb port or your blue tooth needs an update. Find out the driver or firmware and run it. Then restart your system once again and check again.
