Installing Dell Photo AIO Printer 926 with driver

Hi everybody,

I have some installations issues on my computer with both the Dell Photo All-In-One Printer 926 or the 944 on my Dell XPS laptop. I have Windows XP Media Center installed on it. All am getting an error message that the AIOC.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close, and sometimes that the Class Manager will not allow the installation. when i scrutinized the device manager it shows yellow exclamation mark on the printer logo. Dell wants me to re-install XP but guess a "known issue" with compatibility I need to know if this is XP, the Dell driver or what? guys please help me in this regard as am so much frustrated with this..

I am aware of this issues. a lot of people are facing with there dell printers,as they fails to find a proper driver for the Dell Photo AIO 926. The link is here

Solidly Dell is responsible for their drivers, but Dell claims it is not their driver, they obtained the driver from a third party. but a glitch in the software on my computer which would be fixed if I reinstalled XP. This is utterly meaningful and seems unlikely to result in a successful resolution of the problem since these install problems seem to be, as I said, a "known issue." My question is whether this is a driver or an operating system problem, and who or what runs

I guess device drivers are generally operating system-specific, and if a company is unwilling to release the technical information needed to write alternative device drivers for other platforms and OS'es, end users are pretty much stuck with whatever drivers the manufacturer deigns to release but note this point Are you using any antivirus programs such as McAfee or Norton? They need to be turned off or disabled.
