win 7 installation problem

My desktop has win vista home edition and I am trying to install win 7 but I am getting an error code: 0X8007001. First I tried upgrading to win 7 but it stopped and gave the error code; then I tried to do a fresh install deleting the partition and creating a newone but it stopped again and gave me the same code. I had installed the same software in 2 others computers and it got installed without any problem.

I am trying to install a win xp pro corporate edition with service pack3 to see if I could then install win 7.

I would like to know why it is happening?

Its may be maybe due to inconsistent ISO file that you have downloaded. You might need to re-downloading again and burn at a slower speed same problem occur with some win7 users and doing this solved their problem .If installing directly from ISO into a virtual guest, just redownload .

It might be your Disc problem which is missing some important file or it can be that your computer hardware might be having the issue...! I will suggest you to just see if there is a problem with your Windows 7 installation disk... I will recommend you to download a new file of it & make a new disk & then to try to install...!

This behavior can occur if either one of the following conditions is true:

• There are incorrect settings in the computer's basic input/output system (BIOS) configuration.

• One or more of the random access memory (RAM) modules that is installed on the computer is faulty.
