IE8 smartscreen filter

What is ie8 smartscreen filter? I have no idea what it is. I just want to know what features are available with Internet Explorer's newest Version that is Internet Explorer 8 prior to giving it a try. Can anyone help me with smartscreen filter and other features of IE8?

Ohh..! Thanks for the informations mate. Its very useful, It seems that Microsoft is becoming more and more concerned for their customer after there have been cases of Anti-Trust against them. Well, to be frank, i'm a fan of IE since IE 6 was out. It was the best web browser at that time, so i can always give IE a try. Well can anyone give me some more info on new features of IE 8?
