Subtitle converter idx to ssa

I have some video files with idx subtitles. I want to convert them to ssa, is here any software tool to convert subtitle formats and embed it with the video again? Please help me! Thanks in advance...

Are those a dvd files that you have? Do you have the .ifo files that all the subtitles are stored in? If you don't have those files you cannot convert the subtitles, The subtitles that appear in the video are imprinted on the video itself... Do post back!

Hey, thanks for teh quik reply, I have three types of files : vob, bup and ifo files in the video folder. And yes, these files are from my DVD. Now that i have the .ifo file, how do i convert it? please help!

The only program that is free to download and use is VirtualDub. You will need this software tool to convert the subtitle formats...
