Help please my windows mail wont stop poping up

hey everyone,

im new here and have a question
everytime time i hit my ctrl key my windows mail pops up

so i basically cant play any of my old games with out hitting ctrl and having my game minimize (and gets me killed) and windows mail pops up.... not to mention everytime i use ctrl + any shortcut key it pops up aswell (copy , paste , etc)


im running windows vista home premium service pack 1

please help

In Internet Explorer, click on Tools, then Internet Options, then Connections, then Never dial a connection, then Apply, then OK.

In Windows Mail, click on Tools, then Options, then Connection. If there's no check mark in the box before Ask before switching dial-up connections, click on this box and then Apply. If there's a check mark in the box before Hang up after sending and receiving, click on this box and then Apply. Click on OK.

You can configure you windows mail by going in Tools > option > General Menu. Look inside in the different tab weather any keyboard key is assigned to windows mail. If yes then remove the settings. Second you can try go to Start Menu > control panel. Look for the keyboard option in classic view. Open it and check out weather the control key is not assigned to windows mail specifically.

Its strange behavior, what was the last activity that caused windows mail to pop up?
Which i9s your default email service?
Again you must try to find the program which is constantly trying to access windows mail so please do a system scan & I think this will solve the problem if its due to a malware or any system threat.

hey guys,

thanks for the responses but they didnt work . In the end i did a complete system restore back to factory settings to see if that would help. Nope, now i'm thinking its my keyboard ..... if so, does anyone know if there is a default windows mail short cut ( i.e ctrl+?) if there is one key assigned, i can pinpoint it on my keyboard and try to see if thats the problem.

try disabling the windows mail in start-up
go to run-> msconfig-> start-up-> and disable the windows Mail..
not really sure but it might work....if windows mail doesnt load on start-up..it might stop popping up...
