How can i erase a DVR tape

I would like to know that how can erase a dvr tape. Is there any kind of software which can be used to erasing a dvr tape? Does any body knows about this issue? Kindly provide me your suggestion on the above issue. Any kind of information on the above issue would be appreciated.

I think Video tapes and most of all types of magnetic media can be erased by exposing them to an AC field. Which in terminology can be called as a "bulk eraser". It's like a transformer which can be used easily and its very convenient to use.
