I cant uninstall AVG 8 from my computer.HELP

I have AVG 8 installed on my computer but it is not found in my control panel its located somewhere on my hardrive. I need help uninstalling in so that i can install a new anti virus.

Have you tired Doing : start - setting - control panel - add or remove - find the AVG 8 file and remove it .

Hey try to find out the following part on your pc C:\Program Files\AVG\AVG8\setup.exe /UNINSTALL. You can find it where all your programs file are been stored, let say for example on C drive. You have to check the above path according to your pc.

Go To Run on the Start Menu >> Then type regedit in it & then press enter.

After opening the registry editor go to Edit & then click on the find (Ctrl + F).

After clicking on the Find type AVG in it & then find all the registry on it, But while find it delete all the registry.

After deleting all the registry & then reintall the same or latest version of Avg for clean uninstall.

After uninstalling the AVG, I will recommend you to buy the license version of any of the Antivirus you install on your computer. I will recommend you to Buy Eset Nod 32 Antivirus or Quick Heal Total Security Antivirus.

If you are using Windows Vista : you probably need to acquire Administrator Rights before uninstalling AVG 8.

If you are using Windows XP : The easiest way is to re-install, reboot and uninstall it...... might work this time.

There are multiple reason for your query. May be because some corrupt or missing system file makes your un-installation process incomplete. I would recommend you to use the AVG Removal Tool. It an official tool from the makers of AVG Antivirus. It will completely remove the antiviurs from your computer. Click on the downlinks to get the removal tool for your system

The program is no longer on my computer and cannot open. It is also not located in the add or remove programs. But is found in "My computer" on the hard disk drivers in program files but none of the programs are able to open.

Try uninstalling it with some uninstaller. I will suggest you RevoUninstaller. It is a freeware uninstaller, which you can use to uninstall programs and scan after uninstall for leftover registry keys, files and folders. It also helps you to uninstall software and remove unwanted programs installed on your computer even if you have problems uninstalling and cannot uninstall them from "Windows Add or Remove Programs".
