How to lock Chart in Excel 2007

Hi friends,

I have some charts being added in Excel sheet and that sheet is being protected by a password but still in some of the sheets user is able to edit the charts which should not happen.Can anyone tell me what i need to do protect all of my charts in Excel sheet.

For locking chart in excel 2007 we have to first Lock Cell and after that we need to Protect Sheet.

For locking the cell you need to follow the below steps:-

1. Enter any data into cells for example from A1 to D1.
   
2. Now drag and select cells A1 and B1 to highlight them and click on Home tab.
   
3. Now choose the Format option on the ribbon for drop down list to get open.
   
4. Now click on Lock Cell option at the bottom of the list.

For protecting a Worksheet in Excel 2007 you need to follow this steps:-

1. First select on Home tab.
   
2. Then choose the Format option on the ribbon for drop down list to get open.
   
3. Now click on Protect Sheet option at the bottom of the list over here you will get a Protect Sheet dialog box.This dialog box contains a number of options for protecting the worksheet.
   
4. Finally select the appropriate options which you need to have for your worksheet and click on OK.

I have already try to do this by still user is able to edit the charts in Excel worksheet. Can anyone provide me with different solution.

Try to scroll down and de-select "Edit Objects".After completing that you will be prompt for protect and after that user will not be able to change the chart.
