The selected file is not valid or is corrupted.

Hello. Im new here. I just need some help with this problem i've been having.

I recorded a 29 minute video with my screen recorder and it took forever to process when i stopped recording. Now it says that its a 2,600,000 kb file. Im trying to put it on youtube and make it 3x faster then it is now, but when i put it onto windows movie maker it says...

___________ could not be imported. The selected file is not valid or is corrupted.

How do i get the file smaller or at least have it go into a movie editor!

I think you should check the file's format is compatible with windows movie maker or not. Supported formats for windows movie maker are:-

    • Video files: .asf, .avi, .wmv
    • Movie files: MPEG1, .mpeg, .mpg, .m1v, .mp2
    • Audio files: .wav, .snd, .au, .aif, .aifc, .aiff
    • Windows Media files: .asf, .wm, .wma, .wmv
    • Still images: .bmp, .jpg, .jpeg, .jpe, .jfif, .gif
    • MP3 format audio: .mp3

You may not be able to import the file if the codec that was used to encode the audio or video is not a codec that is included with Windows

    Hey!
Try to use Total Video Converter. It can convert any audio - video files to any other format. You can give custom frame rate, sound quality, and video resolution... That will shrink the video size... All the best...!
