    sad WMC cannot detect IR Hardware in Windows 7

    Hey Guys,

    I had install windows 7 on my system. The problem in Windows 7 is that my Windows Media Center is unable to detect IR Hardware on my system. I get an error message showing that "Windows Media Center cannot detect your IR receiver" whenever i try to used my Windows Media Center on my Windows 7 Can any body help me out to get rid of this problem? Does any body knows about this issue? Any kind of help on the above issue would be appreciated.

    In addition to the MC IR receiver built into or separate from your desktop you also have to have an IR blaster connected so it can control the STB.

    Yes, it is true that Windows Media Center requires a special remote. You can usually tell if the remote you have will work by checking to see if there is a "Windows" logo key on the remote. If there is no Media Center button, then the remote is not going to work no matter what you try to do with it.

    You may also need to load Media Center support drivers for the remote and sensor, those should be on the web site if needed.

    i have the same remote you're described but i couldn't find this driver.

    Hey!
    In your case i would suggest you to update windows 7 to the latest... check the hardware manufacturer's website for the latest drivers... All the best...!
