    jqsnotify.exe slows down PC

The Java Quickstart process jqsnotify starts up automatically when I start the system. It slows down my PC gradually. When I checked into task manager, there were 4 cores of this jqsnotify running over. This gradually makes my PC come to still. And in task manager it was showing 100% usage. I disabled the process from task manager and then PC comes to normal. But it is so irritating to do this every time especially when I am doing some important work or playing games. Anyone has some solution to avoid this thing?

It is possible that your PC could be infected. The file name JQSNOTIFY.EXE is used by both safe and unsafe programs. You should urgently check your PC to make sure it is not infected.

Is it 6 Update 10 that started putting the java service in?
I hope Sun soon dumps this, just what we needed more services running in the background...

Yes, it is after updating to Java 6 Update 10 if I remember correctly. Is this the culprit. What should I do then ?

    • Go into Add/Remove programs and uninstall all Java except the newest version.

    • Reboot.

    • Run Taskmgr and end jqsnotify.exe

Cleanup old Java and update to newest version this program will do it all for you.

    • Download JavaRa
      http://sourceforge.net/project/downl...se_mirror=osdn

    • Unzip it, run it, to update chose Jucheck (Suns updater) first, and if you do not have Jucheck then chose Update using Sun.

    • After update chose Cleanup old versions. Give it a minute and after it pops up the log file you will see what it removed.

    • Then click "Additional tasks" and check "remove Useless JRE files and Remove JavaRa log files.

    • After that run Search for Updates again to confirm you are up to date.
    • After that run remove older versions again. This time the Log file should be empty.

Now the jqsnotify.exe should run normally.

If it does not you need to deep Malware scans as you may have a Java related Malware.

I would suggest Malwarebytes AntiMalware Full scan to begin.
