cannot open Photoshop CS3 in Vista

Hello,

I have Windows Vista Premium family Edition . I have installed the continuation of Adobe Master CS3 and all seems to be well installed. On the other hand, it is impossible for me to open my software. When I try to open Photoshop, I have the window of the software which opens and the mouse which tranforms in circle which becomes animated and remains as stucked for a long time until I learn that the program does not answer and that I must close it. For Dreamweaver, I do not have same step as it opens but I know that the program is active because I see it in the task manager. I have tested by uninstalling and reinstalling the programs several times, but nothing worked. I have also installed Photoshop 7 and that works fine. So I would like to thus install a more recent version and if somebody has an idea, any, to solve the problem, I would be glad. Thank you

This error is reported to be associated with the .dll files used by Adobe's Version Cue software.

One solution that works some of the time is to copy the three .dll files from:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS3\Client\3.0.0

to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS3\Client\3.1.0

If this doesn't work, please reply and let me know and we can try some other things.

Solution: drop to command line with administrator privileges and run

regsvr32 JScript.DLL

It worked for me!

Just in case anyone misunderstood:
1: Click on the 'start' logo.
2: Click start search and look up 'run'
3: Click on the first result
4: Type in regsvr32 JScript.DLL and hit ok
5: ignore the error message and run the setup
6: Enjoy!

It's probably a permissions thing, try this: (I'm pretty sure you'll have to be logged in on an Admin account to do this)

Right-click on your CS3 shortcut, choose Properties and go to the Security tab. In the box at the top, select the user account you'll be running in and see if all permissions are checked. If they're not, just click on the Edit button and check them all.
