Zipping and Unzipping files again and again corrupts files?

Hey guys!
I have a habit to keep my backup files in archive file so that all i have to do is extract the data from a single folder and everything is sorted in case of a disk crash. But i'm worried... Does zipping and unzipping files corrupt data? I just Add new files to the existing archive and don't create the archive all over again... Is this a safe practise? Will this corrupt my data?

Till date, there have been no such issues regarding creating archives and extracting data from the same over and again. But you cannot say that it can't happen. Cause you don't know what happens when the file is compressed and archived... It is always better to keep a backup without archive...! Just a thought...!

Thanks...! One more question...! Do i need to select any other options while creating archives? Like fastest, best,normal and all these? Just curious to know. Cause i have never used them before...! Thanks once again!

Hey there!
Those settings are regarding compression, changing the setting to "best" will not preserve file integrity, just potentially reduce the size of the archive and increase the length of time to create it. If you set it to "Fastest" the archive will be created more faster but the compression will be poor...!
