    Windows live messenger error 0xc0000034

    Hello,
I installed Windows Live Messenger without any problem but when I tried to initialize the program I got a message:
"Could not initialize the program correct (0xc0000034). Click OK to finish the program." What is wrong with it? Can anybody help?

    Thank you.

Press Alt+Ctrl+Del on your keyboard. Then go to Processes tab and kill the "msnmsgr.exe" process. Delete all the appropriate files. You can also download this program to remove "msnmsgr.exe"

    Try this:
    • Click start
    • Then click run
    • Type prefetch in the box
    • Then press enter
    • Click edit then select all (Ctrl+a)
    • Right click on it and click delete
    • Click confirm on prompt
Then run disk clean up and defragmenter from Start =>Programs =>accessories =>System Tools.

Re: Windows live messenger error 0xc0000034

    Hello
I have a problem of a similar nature. I had the WLM latest version and decided to take it off, using HandyUnintaller, accidentally removed the the files instead of uninstalling them. Now, I have tried every removal method I could have found for the past 4 days, to get rid of the files (essentials, write, msger, assistant etc) which are still present. I am seeing them in Add/Remove but no buttons to remove when I high them. When I try a removal methods eg: RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove and try to load MSN 8.5, I keep getting a message stating that my system has a Newer version than the one I am trying to install. When I try msiexec /x {B1403D7D-C725-4858-AACC-7E5FA2D72859}, I get a message stating that the windows installer service could not be accessed, either because i am running windows in safe mode or because the installer isnt correctly installed. I am at my wits end for a solution, someone help plz.

Re: Windows live messenger error 0xc0000034

The error 1603 ("A fatal error occurred during installation") comes from Windows Installer (MsiExec.exe)

And that error occurs because you have either
    • a bad installation of Windows Installer
    • Windows Installer isn't up-to-date
    • Disk space ran out while installing a program
    • A certain file is still locked
    • You have previously installed some updates of Windows but they weren't finished and/or fuxored other things up...

To properly fix it (fix from mess.be and the ones described in previous posts are far from 'proper' and/or 'complete'):

    • Close all applications running in the background
    • Reboot your computer
    • Clean out your temporary folder and/or other folders which might take up much disk space
    • Make sure you have all the Windows updates and fixes: http://www.windowsupdate.com/
    • Redownload and reinstall the Windows Installer:
    • For Windows XP: Windows Installer 3.1
    • For Windows 2000 and Windows NT 4.0: Windows Installer 2.0

sad Re: Windows live messenger error 0xc0000034

I downloaded SP3 yesterday so Installer 3.1 does not work. So, I DLed Installer 4.5. When i go to c:> program files > windows live folder > msger.exe (2 little green men icon) and double click - I am getting the message "This application failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect." Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. Of note, when I run the Windows Live Installer, it says the Live messenger is installed on my system. Is there anyway I can overwrite the information by running the actual .exe set up for WLM.
