    Exclamation WMP 9 Issue

    I dont think this is a normal issue.

    During the playback of songs, the song pauses for like a mili mili second.

    If i play the same song with my laptop, and with any 2 randomly selected computers, because of those pauses or breaks whatever you might want to call them, the end result is that the song on my laptop ends 5 seconds after the song ended on those 2 computers. The song dosent 'pause' it just slows or something i dont know how to explain it, it dosent occur once during playback it keeps occurring.

    Im using Windows XP Service Pack 3, Dell vostro 1510 laptop, if you require any other info ill be more than grateful to provide it.

    Please solve me problem, thank you

    How much RAM you have?
    1. try defragmenting and scandisk
    2. try disabling the visualizations - coz may be your system is running low on resources.

    if you are playing high quality audio files like wav or mp3s above 256 kbps with a small ram then it can happen.

    You should simply upgrade your Media player 9 to media player 11..you can find it here Windows Media Player 11 for Windows XP ..

    other wise there are better audio players (winamp, foobar, etc), and lots of better video players as well (MPC, VLC, ZoomPlayer, etc) .

    @Fabian
    Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, 2.00 GHz and 2.00 GB of RAM
    Ill try defragmenting my disks and then play the songs again

    @Sam.D
    Ur confusing my problem with another one, the link you posted solves the issue of the pauses inbetween songs, meaning when a song is finished then theres a pause before the next song starts, i dont have that problem, my problem is what ive said earlier, during the 'playback' of any song, the song pauses or slows down or something for a mili second which is hard to notice but its still there and it results with the song ending 4-5 seconds later to when it should have ended.

    @Raiz
    Does wmp11 require genuine windows checkup?

    Btw ty all for trying to help.

    I just played the songs on vlc which has no visualisations, and also on media player classic, still no help, the same pauses or breaks occur. This makes me think that my wmp9 dosent have a problem but there is some memory issue, although i do i have alot of Ram

    commonly such delayed is due to less memory or cpu but you have more than enough so i think you should check for audio driver also check that is this happen after updating to windows service pack 3 ? and try to install latest audio driver.

    Yes it require, Here is the direct download link : http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...xp-x86-enu.exe

    If you don't want the genuine windows checkup, then simply switch to some other free media player.

    @Raine
    i think you are right, i just noticed something strange
    i went into Add-Remove programs, and found
    "High Definition Audio Driver Package - KB888111"

    there was a link to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888111

    and there it said,

    This driver is designed to work with the following operating systems:

    The original release version of Microsoft Windows Server 2003
    Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 1 (SP1) or with Service Pack 2 (SP2)
    Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 (SP4)

    Note This driver does not work with Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 or a later service pack.

    The strange thing is that there is no mention of Windows Xp Service Pack 3, so can service pack 3 be the cause of my problem?

    Yup its really strange that there is no mention of Windows Xp SP3, may because its available for free to update to XP SP3, but since i'm using windows media player 11 on my XP SP3 without any problem, so i can say that it will work, but there is Windows genuine check up for sure, i'll suggest you to use the Media Player Classic or Player like Vlc, there are many more available.
