    Re: Windows CardSpace Problem

Di yet again: Furtehr to my recent posts, I continue to have error messages that Windows CardSpace has encountered a proble and has been stopped. Since I had disabled it in services.msc, I do not know how it gets activiated to cause the problem to force it to stop!
Has Microsoft provided a solution to this vexing problem yet? It is clear to me that this application is a requirement for identity protection.
Any help will be most greatly appreciated. An effective solution is most definitely warranted! Bruce (Arbyem)

    Re: Windows CardSpace Problem

Can you open the event viewer and see if you can find an error message from CardSpace there? First, do not run any registry programs. For that you need to update your Windows in order to protect your computer from the malware. Usually it's under: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\ Open the folder Property and go to the Security Tab. Can you check to if you have full control of your local application data folder? Find your username and see if "Full Control" is checked. Anti-virus suites, password managers, and other security application are prime candidates for application incompatibility.

    Re: Windows CardSpace Problem

Hi Arval: Thanks for your input. However, in respect of potential malware, I use ZA Extreme Security V9, always kept updated, so I am confident that malware is not the source of my problem. Further, I am not aware of where to find the "event viewer", since I cannot open Windows CardSpace (Error 1053). I have used services.msc to change the start mode from automatic to manual and back, but Windows CardSpace refuses to be started. Although, as I believe I have noted previously, I continue to receive the error message that Windows CardSpace has enountered a problem and has been stopped, on a regular basis. Hence, it appears that the service is, somehow, being started, only to fail almost immediately.
So, where do I access Event Viewer to check its contents?
Does anyone have information on the status of a Microsoft fix? Or am I the only one who is experiencing this vexing problem?
    Thanks again. Arbyem
P.S. I am attaching the latest version of my Windows CardSpace Problems file.

    Re: Windows CardSpace Problem

Hi RudraJ: Thanks for the information. However, I note that this referenced webpage is dated in 2007, and relates to Microsoft.NET 1.1 SP1. Coincidentally, I have been experiencing a problem on my Desktop (Win XP Home SP3), with not being able to install a NET 1.1 SP1 update (KB 953297). I am not sure that this is at all relevant to my HP laptop problem.
For my HP laptop (Vista Home Premium SP1 x64), the Windows CardSpace problem persists, despite having applied some recommended potential solutions, without success. Surely someone else is experiencing this same problem?
I continue to await for someone to propose a workable solution to resolve this problem with my laptop (which has recent been reformatted, and had Vista and all applications re-installed, and has Zone Alarm Extreme Security, updated daily, as my anti-malware protection). The Windows CardSpace problem existed before Future Shop performed the re-installation process for me. The Technician's advice was to disable Windows CardSpace, since he was unaware of a solution.
    Appreciatively, Arbyem

    Re: Passing the CCNA 640-802

    Greetings All,

What are the best simulations exams for the 640-802 ?

I took the ccna 640-802 exam and received a 785 and needed a 825 to pass (44 questions). I prepared for this exam by making a lab with two 2650 routers and two 2950 switches. I read several books and completed both the Boson and Transcender practice exams with almost 100% correct on all the prep tests the first time around.

The problem is that the actual exam questions are far more complex then what the Boson and Transcender offered even though these exams are geared for the new CCNA exam.

Is there a better exam prep option? Iam going to purchase certmagic.com 640-802 as i heared great reviews about them. Anyone tried them? Let me know plz
