Open tab in internet explorer 8 from outlook express

Hello,
I use outlook express for my email and IE 8 for navigation.
But when I click on a link on outlook, IE8 opens in a new window. How can I open a new tab in the active window? Thank you for any answers

In IE 8 going to Tools> Internet Options opens a new window on the General tab, then in the Tabs> Settings opens a window "Settings tab navigation" click on "Default Settings" box and leave "A new tab in the window." I think it's good finally to have a try, and if that's not what looks try checking the others options.

I just wanted to let you know, if you're interested, that I discovered this tips that if I double click (left mouse button or mouse wheel) any link in Outlook Express, it will open in IE in the very first tab I already have opened. Today I had three tabs opened when I discovered this.

If IE is opened with only one tab, the mouse wheel doesn't work at all. Also, if IE is opened with only one tab, clicking or double clicking with the mouse button opens another IE window.
