Changing Your View Settings - There are several default View settings used by Outlook Express that you might want to change.
- Select View / Layout.
- From here you can select what options you want to see each time you start Outlook Express.
- You can also change the Preview Pane. Due to some of the newer viruses being spread via e-mail, I would recommend turning this off.
By default, Outlook Express sets the default font size for all email and newsgroup message to a 10-point font. For some, this font is too small to be read comfortably and others may want to have a smaller default font. Follow the steps below to change the font size in Outlook Express to a font that better suits your needs.
- Open Outlook Express onto your desktop so you can make the changes to increase the font size.
- Choose the "Tools" menu and click on "Options…" to open the "Options" dialog box so you can change font size.
- Click on the "Compose" tab to view the font settings for Outlook Express.
- Use your mouse to choose the "Font Settings" button, right next to "Mail:" and under "Compose Font."
- Choose the font size that you wish to change to from the drop-down menu.
- Click the "OK" button to close the "Options" dialog box and change the font size to your Outlook Express emails and newsgroup messages.
