You can't burn it as a dvd to watch in a standalone, if your just trying to back up the movie though, you should just be able to copy it to a burn folder and burn it.Apple's drm scheme won't let you burn it as a dvd.

Yes, iTunes will let you burn a playlist, but you're only burning a data CD/DVD. It won't be playable in an DVD player. I've tried to bump the MPEG4 video through a video editing program to see if it can be burned through that software rather than iTunes, also check for resolution ,Do you even think a 320x240 video would look good on a DVD?

For movies, iTunes is still not a good solution indeed. Often more expensive than their DVD version otherwise they are useless on a PC or Apple hardware. So it's limited.

How to Back Up Videos Purchased From the iTunes Store Using iTunes 5 or 6

    Step1
    Open iTunes on your computer.
    Step2
Select the "Preferences" option from the list.
    Step3
    Choose "Advanced," and then "Burning."
    Step4
Choose "Data CD or DVD." Click "OK."
    Step5
Choose "Purchased" from the "Source" box. (If you don't already have a "Purchased" playlist, you can create one using the Smart Playlist feature.) Decide what storage media you'll need to accommodate the size of your file.
    Step6
Select the "Burn Disc" icon at the top of the screen. Insert the CD or DVD in your computer when prompted.
    Step7
When the disk is finished, label it and store it in a safe place.
