I have seen similar things to this posted numerous times but none of the described fixes have worked for me. I am running Vista home Premium SP1 on my personal laptop. I use this computer for work but only when I work from home. I am not on an exchange server. I recently replaced my old laptop and this is my first experience with vista. I am still just running the MS office trial that came loaded on the machine and am having the following problems with outlook 2007.
I can not compose/reply/forward email from outlook. (I receive them as I should and notify works when they arrive) Those options are grayed out.
I can not access options under the tools menu to update mime files etc as it is grayed out.
I can not add appointments to the calender from outlook (but it will sync them from my blackberry just fine) as those options are grayed out.
I can not add contacts directly from outlook. Yeah it's grayed out but they upload from my berry just fine.
I have firefox browser on my computer though I am not sure if this is relevant unless I am using windows mail, and as I said there is no exchange server so the patch is not relevant to my case. I need the calendar and contact lists so basic settings is not an option for me. I have only read of mail issues previously but since they were identical to the problems I am having I doubt the issue is the "trial" in trial version. Any advice would appreciated.
