Can't run exe files

hi,
i have Dell Vostro 1510 Laptop Computer (Intel Celeron 560 2.13GHz, DDR2 SDRAM 2GB, 320GB HDD), runnung windows xp sp2.it works fine i can able to watch videos. but i cant able to run all exe file.i have deleted some exe file and re-downloaded them but get the same error message"files are corrupted.
Any recommendations and suggestions are appreciated. I am a complete noob in this area.

hi,
i think When you installed xp did you format with the XP disc.Also you might have bad ram for it to be giving you error messages like that.
it is also related to ram, how much ram do you have in the new system is it over or close to 4 GB? it might be issues in xp 32 bit, if you have a lot of ram might want to try 3 GB or 2 GB and see if the issues still occure.

Corrupt registry settings or some third party product (or virus) can change the default configuration for running EXE files. This may lead to failed operation when you try to run EXE files.
