Issue with GoogleUpdater.exe

1) What is GoogleUpdater.exe? What does it does? Is it OK to get rid of it as it seems worthless to me?

2) And also I would like to ask same question like above for GoogleUpdaterService.exe.

3) svchost.exe has 13 processes....

4) AppleMobileDeviceServices.exe, I have no idea what this is... all I have is an iPod and iTunes is installed.

googleupdater.exe is a process which belongs to the Google.com's range of Internet search facilities. This program is a non-essential process, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems.

File GoogleUpdaterService.exe is located in a subfolder of "C:\Program Files". Known file sizes on Windows XP are 138680 bytes (68% of all occurrence), 136952 bytes, 138168 bytes, 136120 bytes.
File GoogleUpdaterService.exe is a Verisign signed file. The program has no visible window. GoogleUpdaterService.exe is certified by a trustworthy company. It is not a Windows core file. Therefore the technical security rating is 22% dangerous, however also read the users reviews.

Do you mean there are 13 individual svchost.exe processes running right now or is svchost.exe running 13 processes?

Apple Mobile Device Service. Service installed with Apple's iTunes 7.3 onward. It enables iTunes to interact with the Apple iPhone and the Apple TV.

If you want to remove GoogleUpdater.exe, then here is how to do that:
The next startup program to look at is the GoogleUpdater.exe. I know how I got this startup program installed on my computer. When I installed the Google Toolbar for IE, the installation wizard automatically installed the GoogleUpdater.exe as a startup program on my computer.

Based on the HijackThis report, Google installed GoogleUpdater.exe as a startup program in the global startup program folder:

O4 - Global Startup: Google Updater.lnk = C:\Program Files\Google
                  \Google Updater\GoogleUpdater.exe

When GoogleUpdater.exe is running, you will see a Google icon in the system tray, the right hand side of the taskbar:

Do I need to run GoogleUpdater.exe as a startup program? I don't think so. I can run the update program myself whenever I want to. So I am removing GoogleUpdater.exe as a startup program.

1. Right mouse click on the GoogleUpdater.exe icon in the taskbar and select Exit to stop this program.

2. Using Windows Explorer to local the startup up alias: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\Google Updater

3. Select and delete this alias.

4. Restart the system. Microsoft GoogleUpdater.exe is not in the startup program list anymore.

For successful remove GOOGLEUPDATERSERVICE.EXE removal , following the instruction:
1. Temporarily Disable System Restore .

2. Update the virus definitions. Reboot computer in SafeMode,;

3.Stop GOOGLEUPDATERSERVICE.EXE removal virus files process if you can find on the task list;
