windows live mail

I have windows xp home with windows live mail,I changed isp's now I cannot send mail ,get same error as many do.
The connection to the server has failed.

Subject 'po'
Server: 'pop.mikrotec.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 26
Secure(SSL): Yes
Socket Error: 10060

I have tried ports 24,26,582,587,465 secure and non-secure,with authentication and without,I do not want to use their email to much hassel to send a page ,link ,or just plain use.Surley with windows live mail there is a workaround or a port that will work.Any help will be greatly appreciated.
